Hair Color for The Acreage Clients

The Acreage is one of our furthest regular drives, around 40 to 45 minutes depending on which corner of the community you start from. Most clients head out via 60th Street or Orange Boulevard, hit Beeline Highway northeast, and then drop onto PGA Boulevard or Indiantown Road for the run into Tequesta. We have weekly clients from the eastern half of The Acreage near Coconut Boulevard who say the trip out feels longer than the trip back, because morning traffic east of Beeline picks up after 8:30am.

Why The Acreage Clients Make the Drive

Color work is where most salons get it wrong. Off-the-shelf box dye is engineered to grab fast and deposit max pigment, which is why it always pulls red on previously colored hair. Salon color is different, but only if the salon actually mixes by formula instead of eyeballing tubes.

We mix every color appointment using VISH technology. The system weighs each gram of color, lightener, and developer, which means your formula is recorded and reproducible. Six months from now, when you walk in for a touch-up, we pull your file and mix the exact same blend. No guessing. No drift. No "hmm, last time you came in we used something different." That repeatability is why The Acreage clients drive 45 minutes to us instead of trying the closest shop in Westlake.

Our color line is Alfaparf Milano Professional. It's an Italian color line that lifts clean, deposits true, and doesn't fade muddy. Alicia Vermeulen is a certified Alfaparf educator and trains the rest of our team on placement and formulation.

Color Services Deep Dive

Most first-time color clients from The Acreage book one of three things: a root touch-up with gloss, partial highlights, or a full color correction from previous box dye. We always start with a consultation in natural light. That part is free, and we'd rather spend 15 minutes mapping the right service than rush you into a chair.

For gray blending, we use a technique called root smudging combined with low-light placement. The result grows out without a hard demarcation line, which means you can stretch six to eight weeks between visits. The Acreage is far enough out that we want every appointment to last.

For color correction, plan a longer appointment. If you've been box-coloring for years and want to go lighter, we'll usually do this in two visits to protect the integrity of your hair. Pricing & Stylist Levels

Stylist tiers run from New Talent at $75 to Artistic Director at $250 for haircuts. Color is priced separately by service. Root touch-up starts at $95. All-over color starts around $160. Partial highlights start at $235. Full highlights start at $335. Balayage runs $375 to $450. Vivid color and color correction price by consultation. Getting Here from The Acreage

From central Acreage near Coconut Boulevard and Orange Boulevard, head east on Northlake Boulevard. After Beeline Highway, continue east toward I-95. Take I-95 north and exit at Indiantown Road (exit 87A). Drive east about three miles. Turn left onto Old Dixie Highway, then right onto Tequesta Drive. We are at 365 Tequesta Drive in the plaza on the left. From the northern Acreage area near 140th Avenue, Beeline Highway northeast direct to PGA Boulevard, then I-95 north, is faster. Free parking right at the door.

Frequently Asked Questions

I've been doing my color at home for years. Can you fix it?

Yes, but it takes a plan. Box color builds up on the mid-lengths and ends, which makes lifting tricky. We'll do a strand test, then map a one or two-visit correction depending on what your hair can handle.

How often should I come in for color?

For root touch-ups, every four to six weeks. For partial highlights, every 10 to 12 weeks. For balayage, every three to five months with a gloss in between. We design longer-lasting color for clients driving from The Acreage so you're not on the road every month.

Do you offer gray blending?

Yes. Gray blending uses lowlights and root smudging to soften the gray without committing to monthly root touch-ups. It's one of our most-booked services for clients in their 40s and 50s.
