Hand-Tied Extensions: Why They Are So Popular
Hand-tied wefts are thin, flexible rows of hair that are sewn onto a beaded track installed in your natural hair. They lay completely flat against the head, which means they are virtually undetectable. You can wear your hair up, in a ponytail, or parted in any direction without worrying about anyone seeing your extensions.
Hand-tied extensions are ideal for adding both length and volume. They are also one of the gentlest methods on your natural hair because the weight is distributed evenly across the weft rather than concentrated on individual strands.
The main commitment is maintenance. You will need move-up appointments every 6 to 8 weeks so your stylist can adjust the rows as your natural hair grows. Between appointments, you will want to follow a specific wash and care routine to keep everything looking great.
IBE (Invisible Bead Extensions)
IBE is one of the methods we specialize in here at the salon. It uses a unique beading technique that creates a completely flat, invisible track. The beads are placed in a way that puts zero tension on your natural hair, making it one of the safest options for long-term wear.
IBE works especially well for clients with fine or thinning hair because the installation is so lightweight. If you have been told by other salons that your hair "is not strong enough for extensions," IBE might change that conversation entirely.
Klix Extensions
Klix uses a patented clip system that locks individual wefts into place without heat, glue, or tape. The clips are small and sit flat, so they are comfortable and discreet. Klix is a great option if you want a semi-permanent method that can be removed and reinstalled without damaging your hair.
One of the things I appreciate about Klix is how quickly they can be installed compared to some other methods. If you are on a tighter schedule but still want professional, long-lasting extensions, Klix is worth considering.
V-Light Extensions
V-light is a newer method that uses a special adhesive applied with a heated tool to attach small, thin wefts close to the root. The bonds are flexible and nearly invisible. This method is particularly good for adding volume around the crown and along the hairline where other methods might be too bulky.
V-light extensions are lightweight and blend seamlessly, making them a solid choice for clients who want a natural look without a lot of bulk.
Cinderella Hair Extensions
Cinderella Hair is a premium extension line known for using 100% Remy human hair. They offer tape-in and clip-in options, and the hair quality is excellent. The tape-ins sit flat and are easy to maintain, making them popular for clients who want a lower-maintenance option.
Tape-ins generally need to be re-taped every 6 to 8 weeks, similar to the move-up schedule for hand-tied methods. The key advantage is that tape-in appointments tend to be faster.
Dream Catchers Extensions
Dream Catchers use a single-strand, micro-link approach. Small sections of your natural hair are threaded through a tiny bead along with the extension strand, and the bead is clamped shut. No heat, no glue.
This method gives you a lot of flexibility in terms of placement. We can add volume exactly where you need it without committing to full rows. Dream Catchers work well for clients who want a more customized, targeted approach.
Partial vs. Full Extension Packages

Maintaining Your Extensions

- Move-up appointments: Every 6 to 8 weeks, you will come in so we can adjust the placement as your natural hair grows out. Skipping move-ups can lead to matting and damage.
- Extension blow-dries: We recommend professional blow-dries to keep your extensions smooth, tangle-free, and looking fresh. Our blow-dry services are designed with extension clients in mind.
- Brushing: Use a loop brush or extension-safe brush, and always start from the ends and work your way up. Never rip through tangles from the top down.
- Washing: Wash gently, focusing shampoo on your scalp and letting it rinse through the extensions. Avoid heavy conditioners near the bonds or beads.
- Sleeping: Braid your hair loosely or put it in a low ponytail before bed to prevent tangling overnight.
